Having a Chat

So what’s it like to have a Chat with Pat? An important point to know is that nothing is set in stone. Pat knows from experience that no two people are the same and everyone has their own story to tell, so with this knowledge Chats with Pat is not one size fits all. Each recording, the way it is recorded, the location and the time frames are all adapted to suit the individual circumstance, needs and goals.

The engagement of Chats with Pat is to provide you with a trouble-free rewarding process in the recording of your loved one’s life story. At Chats with Pat it is our mission to act with integrity, kindness and compassion and to provide an environment where people feel comfortable to tell their story with self-worth and dignity.

A typical engagement would consist of a phone call to gather some initial information about the person’s story and identify any significant periods in their life they wish to document. Following this initial phone contact discussion and agreement on location, date and time of the interview is made. Interviews are generally conducted at the client’s home. Relatives or friends of course are welcome to be present, but I have found that people are more comfortable and more open to the telling of their story by themselves.

I allocate 3 hours. After the Chat, Pat edits the interview and provides the electronic recording presented on a USB device. This electronic copy of the Life Story can be downloaded and as many copies of the story can be made so this legacy can be shared. Depending on location of the interview, the cost of a high definition electronic recorded interview is $700.00
